A Wide-band Inner-wall Conformal Antenna for Wireless Capsule Endoscopy

This paper proposes a novel multiband inner-wall conformal meander line antenna for Wireless Capsule Endoscope systems operating at 403 MHz, 868 MHz, 915 MHz and 1400 MHz simulated within its working environment. According to the in-vivo simulation, the proposed antenna operates from 344 to 544 MHz and from 644 to 1600 MHz. The maximum realized gain of the antenna reaches −31.07 dBi at 403 MHz in muscle. The effect of varying capsule shell thickness on antenna performance is also inspected by simulation.
