A Wideband CP Cavity-Backed SIW Antenna Fed by Printed-RGW Technology

In This paper, a novel wideband circularly polarized (CP) cavity-backed substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna is introduced for wireless communications in the millimeter-wave band. The designed antenna is fed using printed ridge-gap waveguide (Printed-RGW) technology with impedance bandwidth from 27.05 to 29.38 GHz. The proposed antenna is achieved a directive pattern with a gain of 7.4 dBic at 28 GHz. In addition, it has a wide-angle 3-dB axial ratio, which can be a good candidate for mm-wave satellite communications.
