High Gain Low Profile CTS Antenna Array for Satcom Applications

A wide band continuous transverse stub array is presented in printed circuit board (PCB) technology. The array of slots is fed by a multi-layer corporate network. A pillbox beam former illuminates the corporate network and generates the required phase front. Numerical results show a reflection coefficient lower than −10 dB in the K/Ka-band (more than 50% bandwidth). Beam scanning is achieved along the slots of the array (H-plane). The maximum realized gain is 21 dBi at 29 GHz. The estimated efficiency is higher than 45% in the band.
