Monitoring Idling Car Gas Leakage and Notification via Mobile with Eco-Feedback

Carbon monoxide is poisonous and can cause many deaths and serious injuries especially in idling car. Therefore, this project can help in monitoring carbon monoxide leakage in a car and send notifications to family members and emergency services allowing them to save lives at the same time. This project utilized the principles of eco-feedback such as text, colour emphasis, metaphor using object and metaphor using living creature to help maintain environmental sustainability and change people's attitudes in designing the mobile application using Android Studio. Functional testing and eco-feedback evaluation were conducted where findings show that consumers' motivation level and positive attitude level increased because sensed information is visualized, and the application provides feedback with the goal of reducing environmental impact. This mobile application also inspires people and raise awareness on the dangers of excessive gas emissions to one's health.
