A Study of Human Body Shadowing at 300 GHz in a Scattering Indoor Corridor Environment

Presented in this paper are the premier results for human body shadowing at 300 GHz. The main-beam and partial blockage effects from a 3D physical model of human body in a typical indoor corridor environment for line-of-sight (LoS) conditions is analyzed. The analysis is based on ray-tracing simulations carried out for the manifold transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) locations. Results reveal that the proposed novel approach to study pedestrian blockage by means of beam spot size from high gain horns requires a different perspective from countermeasures to combat the likely severe shadowing losses.
