Verification of a Dielectric Property Measurement System using a Waveguide Well Compared with the Reference Value of Pure Water

In this study, we measured the dielectric property of pure water by our proposed method which uses a waveguide well for SAR probe calibration. The result shows good agreement between the measured value and the reference value of pure water above 900 MHz. However, with our system, due to the reflected wave from the liquid surface caused by the limitation for the length of the waveguide filled with the liquid, it is difficult to measure the dielectric property correctly below 900 MHz. From this result, we tried to remove the effect of the reflection from the liquid surface using time domain gating. As the result, the measured value is good agreement with the reference value below 900 MHz.
