Experimental study on carbothermal reduction of zinc dust in molten state

In order to achieve the selective reduction of electric furnace dust and the effective separation of iron and zinc resources, Factsage thermodynamic simulation and experimental research are combined. The changes of Gibbs free energy of valuable metal elements in molten state were analyzed. This paper studied the effect of slag phase on the melting temperature and viscosity, and the amount of residual zinc in the slag and iron phase after the reduction of the molten state. The simulation shows that SiO2 can be used to reduce the melting point of slag. Changing the content of FeO can effectively suppress the increase in viscosity caused by the addition of SiO
2
, and the residual zinc content in the slag-iron phase after molten reduction after changing the dust slag system is 0.0046 wt.% and 0.012 wt.%, respectively.
