Effects of Composite Processing on Microstructures and Properties of Al-Mg Alloy

Aluminum-magnesium alloy is widely used at present, so it is of great significance to study its performance improvement. The effect of cold deformation plus deep cryogenic treatment on microstructures and properties of 5A06 aluminum alloy was studied. The results show that the hardness of 5A06 aluminum alloy increased with the extension of cryogenic treatment time, regardless of cold deformation. There was no linear relationship between cold deformation and hardness of the alloy when the cryogenic treatment time was constant. The best process to improve the hardness of the alloy was the combination treatment of 16% cold deformation and 72h cryogenic treatment. Under the same cold deformation conditions, the cryogenic treatment time had a significant effect on the microstructures of 5A06 aluminum alloy. With the extension of cryogenic treatment time, the amount of Al

phase in the microstructure increased obviously. The time of cryogenic treatment and the degree of cold deformation are the key factors affecting the microstructure and properties of the alloy, and the combined treatment effect depends on the influence of the two factors on the stress of the alloy.
