Effect of Mo Alloying on Properties of High Manganese Steel Castings and Cost Analysis

Under the condition of high stress and high impact wear, the new anti-wear material with high toughness has high application value. In this paper, in order to improve the wear resistance of high manganese steel to better meet the service conditions, and to reduce the cost of materials. The effect of molybdenum alloying on the structure and mechanical properties of high manganese steel was studied. Combined with numerical simulation, the filling, solidification temperature change and shrinkage cavity defects of the casting were analyzed. The simulation results are in good agreement with the actual production castings, and the casting quality is improved. The test results show that the mechanical properties of alloyed high manganese steel castings are better than those of high manganese steel castings. The tensile strength, hardness and impact toughness of high manganese steel castings are increased by 13.06%, 49.41% and 44.7% respectively. Mo element can significantly better the mechanical property, the microstructure, the shape of the steel. According to the experimental results and material cost analysis, the cost variation trend of high manganese steel can be predicted while improving its performance.
