A Hybrid Approach for Target Drug Delivery with Microwave Thermal Ablation

Drug delivery systems are gaining tremendous attention in disease control and treatment. The ability to create target specific controlled release formulations of drugs has changed the scenario of drug development and manufacturing. Along with an effective target drug delivery system, the significance of thermal ablation techniques cannot be ruled out in treatment of broad range of diseases such as cancer, fungal infections or muscular degeneration. In this paper, authors present a hybrid approach for target drug deliver with a potential thermal ablation approach to treat a disease-ridden muscle tissue. The results are being analysed for proposed model in terms of temperature distribution, reflection coefficient and specific absorption rate.
