Improved Modeling of BDFRG in Wind Power Generation Application

Considering global climatic change issues, renewable power generation using wind and micro-hydro generation has become an attractive option. However, efficiency and reliability of existing generators is significantly challenging. In this paper, an attempt has been made to design an improved controller for BDFRM that generates a stabilized output and minimizes the reactive component of the power output. Therefore, based on efficiency and reliability Brushless Doubly Fed Reluctance Machine (BDFRM) has been selected for analysis. To test the improved controller of the machine using the mathematical models, the dynamic model of the machine has been developed using MATLAB Simulink®.
