A Wide Dynamic Detection Range Glucose Sensor by Synergetic two P+N Organic Field-Effect Transistors

This paper reports a glucose biosensor consisted of a series p+n organic field-effect transistors (OFET) and a parallel p+n OFET to enable wide dynamic range of glucose measurements. The gate of a p-type OFET in series with the source of an n-type OFET makes up the series p+n OFET to enable cascaded two-stage amplification of weak detection signals, therefore, achieving glucose measurements from micromole to millimole. The parallel p+n OFET is constructed through the gate of a p-type OFET in parallel with the gate of an n-type OFET to proportionally compress the non-measurable high concentration signals to the measurable range, therefore, achieving glucose measurements from millimole to mole. Finally, the synergistically working of the series p+n OFET and the parallel p+n OFET makes the glucose biosensor a wide dynamic range of glucose measurements from micromole to mole.
