Mathematical Modeling the EEE's Space for Analyzing and Assessing the Optimal Structures in Hydro-Thermal Power System Operations

This paper proposes a new formula for modeling the economic-efficient equivalence's (EEE's) space to analyze and assess the optimal structures in daily dispatching the hydro-thermal power system operations. We propose a new algorithm, applying the nonlinear programming to solve the optimal coordination of generator power outputs in hydro-thermal power system operation by adjusting the energy values of water consumption involved in the hydro-power sources. The fuel cost characteristics of the thermal power sources, taking into account the turbine backpressure effect, are simulated. The typical results are shown in this paper, investigating a test power system consisting of 45 power buses with two hydroelectric plants and two thermal power plants.
