An Ancillary Trading Mode of Power Market Based on Commitment Generation Quota

Under the goal of building a new power system with new energy as the mainstay, the traditional power market trading model also needs to improve its adaptability to new energy generation such as wind power and photovoltaics. This paper addresses the problems of wind and light abandonment, inefficient utilization and regional transmission blockage caused by the large number of new energy units connected to the grid, and introduces the concept of committed generation quota as one of the auxiliary trading targets in the power market trading mechanism, aiming to stimulate various types of power producers to participate actively to calm down the fluctuation of new energy output and solve transmission blockage problems through market-based means, so as to improve the utilization rate of new energy and reduce overall carbon emissions. The transaction of committed generation quota not only increases the revenue of the purchaser, but also reduces the losses of the seller due to blockages, while the cost of electricity purchase for the whole society is effectively controlled, thus achieving the optimal comprehensive benefits. This paper demonstrates that the proposed trading mechanism is effective and efficient through actual calculation examples.
