SRR Inspired Triple Band Compact Monopole Patch Antenna for WiMAX, WLAN and X-Band Applications

In this paper, a planar triple band compact monopole circular patch antenna is present with a split ring resonator for WLAN applications. The proposed antenna mainly designed with a split ring resonator on circular patch, parasitic elements and limited ground plane. A 50-ohm microstrip line technique used to excite the antenna. . The resonant frequency centered at 3.88 GHz and 5.6 GHz, with −10 dB impedance bandwidth covers from 3.8 to 3.94 GHz and 5.04 GHz to 6.56 GHz respectively. Antenna gain covered from 0.77 dBi to 6.5 dBi. The proposed antenna parameters like return loss, radiation pattern, gain, radiation efficiency, co and cross polarization and current distributions analyzed by HFSS Simulator. The designed antenna is compact in size and can used for WiMAX, Wireless LAN and X-band applications.
