A single failure correction accelerated RAID-6 code

We proposed a single failure correction accelerated RAID-6 in this paper. Two parities are set to help decoding and therefore only half data of each disk need to read in that process which the decoding speed can improve almost half. Then the algorithm of double failures are simplified to reduce the matrix complexity. The codes used hardware platform INSPUR_SHUYU server test both in SAS HDD and SATA SSD for IOPS comparison and the results showed half to 3 times improvement.
