An authentication design of intelligent substation based on identity password

As the hub of power transfer in the power grid, intelligent substation undertakes many important functions, and its communication security transmission is an urgent problem to be solved. The previous research is mainly based on PKI signature technology, which brings a great burden to the system and network. This paper proposes an identity authentication method based on identity password to realize the identity authentication of communication subject in intelligent substation and key exchange for network layer secure communication. Finally, this paper analyzes the authentication of identity password from the performance, and proves theoretically that the identity password algorithm can meet the identity authentication of intelligent substation.
