Numerical Simulation Research on Light Scattering Characteristics of Coal Dust Particles

In order to improve the current light scattering method dust concentration detection accuracy and optimize the design of the light scattering method dust concentration detection unit, the light scattering characteristics of coal dust are numerically simulated by author in this article. The article first explained the Mie scattering theory of dust particles, and designed the MATLAB numerical simulation process of Mie scattering theory, and determined the calculation method of Mie scattering coefficient. The influence curve of dust particle refractive index, laser wavelength and scattering angle on the scattered light intensity of different particle size dust was calculated by numerical simulation. The influence of three factors on the intensity of scattered light is determined. The imaginary part of particle refractive index, the laser wavelength, and the scattering angle have a significant influence on the scattered light intensity of the dust of each particle size. The wavelength of laser light is smaller, the greater the intensity of scattered light. The dust particle size is larger, the stronger the scattered light intensity. The scattered light intensity of the dust particle size of 1um-10um is concentrated in the small forward angle range, and this angle becomes smaller as the particle size increases.
