RO PUF design for secure identity authentication

The rapid development of the Internet of Things technology puts forward more stringent requirements for the identity authentication of terminal devices. As security primitive, physical unclonable function has become a research hotspot in the field of hardware security. This paper designed and implemented a PUF circuit with high reliability. Combined with PKI technology, the realized PUF structure can be used for device identity authentication with the public key certificate from the CA center. This paper verified the PUF circuit on the PYNQ-Z2 development kit and developed a PUF-based secure certification system. Experimental results show that the designed PUF structure has a good reliability with the bit error rate lower than 1%.
