Status and Analysis of RF Conformance Test for Millimeter-wave Devices

With the evolution of 3GPP standard, RF conformance test of millimeter-Wave (mm-Wave) devices is becoming more and more mature. This paper firstly introduces the development status of the 5G mm-Wave industry and RF conformance certification concept of 5G cellular devices. Then the status and progress of 3GPP5G mm-Wave standards and global certification are summarized. In the third part, major challenges and corresponding solutions of RF conformance test for 5G mm-Wave devices have been analyzed and presented from OTA test methods, Figure of metrics (FoMs) for transmitter and receiver and testing time three aspects. Lastly, several open issues for further study are summarized and discussed.
