Design and Simulation of 0.22 THz High Power Continue Wave Folded Waveguide Traveling Wave Tube

A design and simulation of 0.22 THz folded waveguide (FW) traveling wave tube (TWT) is presented in this paper. Phase Velocity Tapering (PVT) measure is adopted to improve the efficiency of beam-wave interaction. In addition, the stable output power at the frequency of 0.22 THz is achieved, in which a 24 kV, 35mA electron beam is applied for. Besides, the influence of the surface roughness is considered. And the output power of such structure is 61.6 W and the gain is 34.9 dB. The electronic efficiency of the FW is 7.3%, and the 3 dB-bandwidth is 9 GHz. Moreover, the protype of 0.22 THz TWT is under manufactured and will be reported in the future papers.
