Marine Control System Design Based on Different PID Approaches

The main objective in this paper is to design a suitable and robust autopilot for ships based on different control technique. Three control techniques were designed for ship control system based on PID approaches, they are: PID Genetically tuned, fuzzy control, and adaptive PID fuzzy tuned. For result comparison, PD controller has been applied to similar research. The difference in emulation consequences between three proposed controllers and conventional control were examined by a control performance in calm water or waves of heading angle error and rudder deflection in robustness against wave disturbance. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control techniques against conventional control.
