Influence of Learners' Online Interaction Characteristics on Collaborative Knowledge Building in a Knowledge Forum

To deeply explore the relationship between group online interaction characteristics and the collaborative knowledge building of learners in the knowledge forum, this research uses social network analysis and content analysis to process and analyze the collected knowledge forum data. First, researchers analyzed the online interaction characteristics of group members from the three indicators of sociogram, online interaction network density, and centrality. Then, using the five-stage collaborative knowledge building code, the researchers found that the team members' collaborative knowledge building level was at a relatively low level. Finally, with the help of statistical analysis software, the researchers found that the network density of team members' online interaction significantly and positively affected learners' knowledge negotiation and knowledge modification. This research is of great significance to the instructional design of instructors and the development of online collaboration platforms.
