Research on Decision-Making of EMUs Maintenance Based on Triangular Fuzzy multi-Attribute

Chinese Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) is known for its highest quantity, high operation density, high speed and long routing which bring great convenience to railway passengers as well as unprecedented pressure on safety. To ensure EMUs operational safety, current maintenance system is adopted as 'Mainly based on planning preventive maintenance, supplemented by post-maintenance‘. The maintenance system basically meets the needs of Chine high-speed rail operation safety, but some problems still exist such as insufficient maintenance and over-maintenance, resulting in low EMUs online rates and high maintenance costs. When faults occur or are predicted during operation of EMUs, various factors are needed to be fully considered, and the most reasonable maintenance method should be quickly decided to improve the efficiency and quality of EMUs maintenance, and to reduce maintenance costs. In the article, a fuzzy multi-attribute method based on Triangular Fuzzy number is adopted to comprehensively analyze the impact of various factors including EUM condition, fault history and maintenance conditions, to select the optimal schemes from a group of limited faults disposal schemes, therefore maintenance decision-making suggestions are proposed. The method has had a trial in the EMUs Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) System. The method can provide reasonable disposal schemes when faults occur or are predicted and 78% of the suggestions are the same as the actual measures, which shows that the method is effective and has a certain application prospect.
