Quantitative Evaluation on Hazard Causation of High-speed Railway Signal System

Evaluation of the causes of hazards leading to accidents is an essential way to enhance the safety of high-speed railway signal systems. In order to adapt to the heterogeneous hierarchical characteristics of the high-speed railway signal system, some novel evaluation indicators based on the existing network topological indicators are proposed, including network average causal connection strength, causal connection strength between layers, causal intermediary with layers, causal intermediary within layer, reachable causal intensity and source causal intensity of the cause. By the proposed indicators, a hazard causation network of high-speed railway signal systems is evaluated from various perspectives. The results of the case study show that the proposed method is suitable for the evaluation of hazardous causes and contributes to enhancing the safety of high-speed railway signal systems.
