Mathematical Modelling, Simulation and Analysis of Solar PV module in Simulink

This paper presents sequential modeling, simulation and analysis of Photovoltaic (PV) module using MATLAB/Simulink 2020a. The mathematical model of PV module was carried out and graphically modeled in Simulink environment. Sun power SPR-X20-445-com PV module is selected for the analysis of the developed model. The parameters needed for modeling the system are obtained from manufacturer's datasheets. I-V and P-V characteristics curves are obtained for the selected module with the output power of 444.86W from simulation and compared with the technical data provided by the datasheet. The results obtained from the simulation model are well matched with the datasheet information from manufacturer. The effect of varying temperature and irradiance was also investigated.
