A VIEW OF 2020 POWER QUALITY WITHIN GB DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS

This paper presents analysis of power quality data gathered during 2020. The data was gathered during a trial of communicating power quality monitors undertaken by Western Power Distribution in 33 kV distribution networks in Great Britain, as part of a project funded via the Network Innovation Allowance that is made available by the energy regulator in Great Britain, Ofgem. The analysis shows that there can be substantial spatial and temporal variations in power quality, and that low carbon technologies are having an influence on the power quality within the distribution networks.
