Pricing Scheme for UAV-Enabled Charging of Sensor Network

Wireless sensor network finds its vital application in many monitoring and surveillance applications. Due to the battery capacity constrains of a sensor node (SN), energy consumption becomes the most critical aspect which determines the life and usability of an SN. To continue the functioning of an energy-critical SN, the on-demand charging of its battery is essential. In this paper, the idea of dedicated wireless charging of an SN by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) enabled mobile charger is envisaged. We consider a competitive market scenario where multiple UAV-enabled chargers are available at their fixed base stations, but the most economical charger is dispatched to the concerned SN and charge it in a time-bound manner. This paper presents a suitable pricing model for dedicated charging of the SNs and finds the corresponding Nash equilibrium prices along with individual profits of each charger using game-theoretic approach.
