Localization for Flow assisted Molecular Communication Networks in the Presence of Inter-Symbol Interference

The location information of Nano-Machine (NM) is important for various applications such as elapsed time between NMs, transmission rate optimization, and detection of irregular cells. The localization of the NM in a flow-assisted molecular communication system can provide reliable communication. In this paper, we present a cooperative localization method in the presence of signal-dependent noise and inter-symbol interference for flow-assisted molecular networks. In particular, an iterative approach for estimating locations using Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) is carried out. By sampling the concentration from various symbols, the receiver NM estimates the Transmitter Nano-Machine (TNM) location. Notably, the multiple Receiver Nano-Machines (RNM) result in performance improvements in terms of location accuracy.
