Requirements for the Power Supply of Medical Equipment and the Application of Technical Protective Measures

The earthing system, the electrical installation and proper protective measures plays the most important role in providing electrical safety for service personnel and the patients in the medical location. The paper presents the advantages and the requirements of the power supply of the equipment in medical locations, called medical safety center, which includes a separation transformer, an equipotential bonding system and insulation monitoring devices. The calculations for some safety requirements of the electrical insulation and the patient currents are fulfilled.
