3D Printed Electrically Conductive Composites by FFF/FDM Technology

In this work is presented an experimental investigation of 3D printed electrically conductive samples for volumetric electric conductivity determination. Samples are prototyped with Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printing technology. Different conductive filaments are added in the filament as micro-sized metal powders of copper, aluminum, brass, iron, nickel and nano-sized graphene. Conductive material properties of these test samples are measured in frequencies up to 100 kHz. Proposed filament fabrication method and corresponding conductive composite could find successful application in low voltage circuits, numeric keypads that require low conductivity, deformation sensors, robotics and flexible electronics. Proposed technology is a step ahead in the process of additive manufacturing with volumetrically controlled material properties during the 3D printing process.
