Magic Mat: Design A Smart Power Generation System Using Piezoelectric Mechanisms

Electricity has currently become a lifeline for the people, with rising demand every day. Thus, this paper presents a smart and sustainable power generation system using piezoelectric mechanisms. During this research, a prototype of a 3m long mat has been implemented with piezoelectric sensors to convert the applied load into electrical charges, which are ultimately stored in a rechargeable battery. In addition, an IoT online monitoring system has been implemented using Blynk mobile application to provide a live notification to the user. From the results obtained, the developed design of the mat generates 1.1 mW of energy per single step which fully charges a battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh in twenty hours with continuous stepping.
