SAR Tomography for Elevation Reconstruction by Sparse Constrained Capon Method

Multiple SAR signals acquired along different orbits can be exploited for reconstructing a three-dimensional (3D) reflectivity profile of the scene along azimuth, range and elevation co-ordinates. For the 3-D image formation, the problem of sparse orbits distribution has to be considered. In this work, we apply the combination of SAR tomography technology and sparse constrained adaptive Capon method to the elevation reconstruction problem, using real airborne multi-baseline data from DLR's airborne F-SAR system over the whole city of Trockenborn, Germany. The results on F-SAR system data show the good performance of the method. The method constructs a robust elevation inversion algorithm to provide theoretical basis and technical support for the further popularization and application of remote sensing target elevation inversion.
