A Survey of Energy-Efficient Methods in Data Center Networks Based on Software Defined Network

With the progress of society and the innovation of communication technology, the scale of data center is growing rapidly, and the types and number of network flows are also greatly increasing. As an emerging network technology, SDN has gradually became the research focus applied to modern data center networks. In view of the existing SDN based data center networks energy-saving methods, the relevant schemes proposed in recent years are summarized and classified, each energy-saving scheme in each classification is described detailly, their advantages and disadvantages are compared, the shortcomings of the existing methods are pointed out, and the future research direction is prospected.
