Cardiac Health Monitoring using IoT based Wearable Smart Band

In this work, an attempt has been made to monitor and monitor cardiac health using IoT based wearable smart band. Cardiovascular disorders are the one of the major causes of death around the globe. For patients suffering from heart diseases, there is a need to monitor cardiac health continuously to predict any abnormalities. The proposed work utilizes a wearable smart band that could monitor the vital physiological parameters such as ECG, body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate. The signals measured are fed to the microcontroller. The data is stored in the cloud using wireless network. Normal range of all the physiological parameters are pre-loaded and whenever there is any discrepancy, an alert message will be sent to the emergency contacts of the patient along with the location using GSM. During alert notification, LCD and Buzzer also will indicate the abnormality to the patient wearing the smart band. Compared to the state-of-the-art methods to monitor cardiac health, the proposed method is economically efficient with accurate results. Hence this proposed method could be useful to assist the clinicians in enhancing cardiac care to the patients.
