Strengthen the Learning Ability of College Students in AI Game Design using Project-Based Learning

Project-based learning (PjBL) is a learner-centered approach that guides students to acquire the knowledge and skills through the design of meaningful projects. Based on the project-based learning method, we focus on training college students on the important concepts of AI (Artificial Intelligent) game design, and then analyze the impact on the next-semester courses in the field of AI game design. AI game design is a interdisciplinary professional technology, including game programming and game art. In the research design, this study starts with five lectures. In the first semester, two lectures are given to train students in the basic important skills of game development. Three courses in the second semester are then provided for analyzing the learning effects of the students after trained by project-based learning. According to the experimental results, students who received project-based learning training in the first semester had better learning results in the second semester than students who did not be trained by project-based learning.
