Analysis of the Influence of Nonlinear Flux Models on Predictive Current Control in PMSM Drives

Conventional deadbeat predictive current control is a powerful control strategy for electric drive because of the advantages of fast dynamic response and easy implementation. In this paper, a detailed analysis about the influence of nonlinear flux models on deadbeat control algorithm for PMSM is presented. The concept of tangential inductance and secant inductance are introduced, respectively, and the improved fundamental-wave model is derived. Then the finite element analysis (FEA) results for the tested motor are presented. On this basis, comprehensive simulation results show that the proposed model can effectively improve the control performance of the current loop.
