An Efficient FCS-MPC based on Discrete Space Vector Modulation for PMSMs

This paper proposes a finite control set model predictive control method which is suitable for permanent magnet synchronous motor. The discrete space vector modulation is introduced. Its products are the virtual voltage vectors. They are not real and are synthesized by using 8 basic voltage vectors. The candidate voltage vectors are added to make PMSM driver obtain better performance. Specifically, they help reduce the torque ripple and current harmonics. At the same time, a simplified calculation method is adopted, which can significantly reduce the calculation time. The simulation results verify that the proposed method is correct and effective.
