A NFV-based Universal Network Simulator Platform with Visualization Playback

Various novel network services have greatly contributed to the development of the network, and network applications play an important role in these services. However, there is a lack of a universal method to analyze network applications in the Internet environment, so this paper proposes a NFV-based platform with visualization playback for solving this problem. The platform deploys network applications in a virtualized environment, and visualizes interaction data of network applications according to custom requirements. Besides, it provides a method to implement applications playback. In this paper, a prototype system is established to analyze DDoS attack application, and the test results show that such a platform can flexibly acquire network applications data in a controllable network environment, and visualize the playback of the network application to reveal or explain the key protocols and mechanisms of network applications.
