Low-Complexity Implementation of Functional Link Affine Projection Algorithm for Active Noise Control System

This paper proposes a new nonlinear active noise control system utilizing dichotomous coordinate descent (DCD) strategy. The proposed algorithm uses the functional link network architecture with the filter coefficients are updated using DCD affine projection algorithm. Mean square error (MSE) and MSE transient efficiency (ζ) are used as performance measure indices for comparing the algorithms. Simulation study demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves faster convergence at a lower computational cost in comparison to the conventional nonlinear active noise control scheme.
