Improving Aviation and Flight Safety By Analyzing Surveillance Data

The Aviation industry has been constantly expanding over the last few decades. This cost efficient and fast way of travel has also become safer over time and is now safer than driving a car. Though in small numbers, airplane accidents still persist and cost hundreds of lives per accident. In this paper, we present a framework that can reduce the possibility of airplane accidents by monitoring and analyzing ADS-B Out data in real time and providing alerts if an anomaly is detected. This will give pilots the much needed time to fix the cause of the impending danger and mitigate the risk before it gets out of hand.
