Commercial Open Line System Optimization for High Speed Data Center Optical Transmission

According to the development requirements of high-speed and large capacity data center optical communication system, The highest incident power with low nonlinear penalty and the appropriate filter bandwidth which compromises filtering penalty and adjacent channel crosstalk in data center interconnection via commercial open line system (OLS) are studied in this paper. The results show that the transmission distance and spectrum efficiency of the OLS are related to the incident power and the filter bandwidth. The optimal incident power which means the farthest transmission distance of OLS at 400Gbps and 800Gbps single-carrier transmission without causing obvious nonlinear penalty are researched in the experiment. The filtering penalty and channel crosstalk of the OLS are analyzed by comparing different filtering schemes, and the appropriate filter bandwidth of OLS under different filtering schemes is obtained in the experiment.
