Service Awareness Recovery under N-1 Failure in Power Grid Optical Communication Networks

Power grid optical communication network is an important infrastructure to support the normal operation of the power grid. Considering the massive amount of operation, maintenance data and increasing complexity of services carried by the power grid optical communication network, the survivability problem is important because the network failure is inevitably. There are many kinds of services in power grid optical communication networks, the requirement for transmission methods and delay reliability of these power grid services are diversified. In this case, we propose a service awareness recovery algorithm to complete route planning and service recovery for N-1 failure of power grid optical communication networks. The core is to perceive the requirement of different services, after that provide corresponding recovery methods according to two parameters that affect the selection of reroute link after the link failure occurs, including information transmission delay and bandwidth in power grid optical communication network. The algorithm can reconstruct the route immediately when detect the failure, minimum the service interruption time and restore the original service in time, then realize the efficient use of network resources and intelligent network service recovery based on service awareness. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm reduces bandwidth blocking ratio by 8% -9% on average in different topologies compared with the baseline algorithm. And the bandwidth blocking ratio can be stabilized within 5% in a normal traffic load scenario.
