The role of traffic effects and environmental effects in optimizing the consumption of an electric bus

Electric buses are becoming increasingly important players in today’s public transport. With these vehicles, as with other electric road vehicles today, one of the most serious problems is to use the energy stored in the battery as efficiently as possible, to cover the longest possible distance with a given charge. Among electric road vehicles, the consumption of electric buses is typically determined by whether it is used for urban or long-distance public transport, as well as by the traffic situations, terrain conditions and other environmental effects. In our research, we ranked and prioritized the factors that can influence the consumption value of an electric vehicle and analysed real traffic situations in a MATLAB-Simulink simulation environment.
