Research on Gata Clamp Active Clamp Circuit Based on SiC MOSFET Drive

A new Gate Clamp Active Clamp Circuit (GC-ACC) is proposed in this paper, based on the basic active clamp circuit. By adding a gate clamp circuit, the gate voltage spike in the SiC MOSFET active clamp circuit is suppressed, and the secondary conduction of the SiC MOSFET is prevented. The active clamp circuit was simulated and verified by the SPICE simulator and experiment. The results prove that the improved GC-ACC is beneficial to reduce the gate-source voltage spike and prevent secondary conduction caused by the basic active clamp circuit.
