Single Inductor Dual Output Three Level Buck Converter

The development of portable electronic devices has advanced in recent years, and power management integrated circuits are an indispensable part. In general, by using a single inductor multiple output structure to realize several output voltages, the area of the printed circuit board occupied by the power stage can be effectively reduced. Hence, a single inductor dual output three level buck converter is proposed in this work to significantly reduce the area of the printed circuit board by combining a three level power stage architecture with a single inductor dual output buck converter.. The chip is implemented by TSMC 0.35 $\mu$m 2P4M CMOS technology and the size of chip including pads is $3.4\times 1.65 mm^{2}$. The input voltage is 5 V. The dual output voltages are 1.5 V and 1.2 V, respectively. The switching frequency is 200 kHz. The off chip inductor and capacitor are 33 $\mu$H and 300 $\mu$F, respectively. The output load current range is 300 mA to 900 mA.
