Preliminary Assessment of Artificial Intelligence Agents for a SILS Robotic System

The paper presents the functionalities of an AI/AR module aiming to enhance the performance and safety of a hybrid robotic system for single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS). The specific functions (components) of the AI/AR module are detailed, and an Analytic Hierarchy Process is achieved to determine the importance of each component with respect to the medical task. This analysis will serve as a foundation for the embedding of the AI/AR functionalities in the Challenge hybrid robotic assisted solution for SILS.
