Analysis and Evaluation of Hip Disarticulation Prosthesis Based on Computerized Metrics. Case Study

Lower limb prostheses must replace the structure, function, and aesthetics of the missing limb. For hip disarticulation, the path to functional prosthesis use can be long and challenging because of the inherent difficulty of ambulation when the entire lower limb has been lost. The energy requirements of prosthesis use in such situations are as much as twice that of normal ambulation [1]. The paper aims to present the difficulties met in the process of lower limb prosthetic fitting, focusing on constructive-functional aspects of hip disarticulation prostheses and the information provided by the analysis of biomechanical parameters and physiological parameters.
