Frequency Analysis of EEG Signals Using Band Energy Distribution

In this paper we approach an analysis in the frequency domain of EEG signals featuring epileptic activity. Various sets of EEG recordings are analyzed on sub-bands using a non-uniform IIR filter bank, its components having bandwidths matched to the frequency intervals of the basic EEG rhythms. For EEG waveforms with typical epileptical patterns, the relative energy distribution ratios, as well as their variation in time are calculated and shown.
