Hemodynamic – Structural Interactions in A Stented Arterial Aneurysm

This paper presents mathematical modeling and numerical simulation results on stent-assisted endovascular aneurysm repair. This technique involves the insertion of a stent into the affected portion of the blood vessel with the aim to reduce the menace of aneurismal flow activities and thus preventing the rupture of the aneurysm. First, an out-of-vessel mechanical analysis is performed for two stent models. Subsequently, the hemodynamic flow through the affected vessel before and after stent implantation is analyzed.
